The Central
District Cycling Club CSC Team O'Grady Junior Tour 2007 was a memorable
event. A great competition ensued between local SA riders and those
visiting from WA, Vic, NSW, Tas, NT and Queensland. Riders will
remember this as one of the best junior events in Australia. Congratualtions
to the organisers, officials, supporters and participants. |

CENTRAL DISTRICTS –
TRACK NIGHT
This year
the Central Districts Cycling Club Track Night featured the largest
field of riders in all categories from the U11 Pocket Rockets
through to the Masters for the 07-08 season. The record crowd
for the season witnessed a spectacular night of racing over the
22 event programme.
Riders from country SA and overseas entrants provided additional
competition for the large contingent of local competitors.
A number of Whyalla junior riders performed well on the night
and their aggressive style adding a new aspect to the local racing.
This years Nell Fowler Shield 500m Time Trial was taken out by
Central Districts Club rider Dale Parker, in a time of 35.80.
This is the first time a Central Districts rider has won the event
since 1997 when it was won by Jobie Dajka who still holds the
event record time of 34.66.
The major Wheel Race events were a highlight of the evening with
the Berthalini cup being won by new rider Scott Hallandal from
Bradley Ward and scratch man Whyalla rider Timothy Fulton.The
Dennis Ellison U17 Handicap trophy was won by Patrick Norton and
the women’s equivalent, the GD Auto Electrics trophy won
by Anneliese Pedler.
The Stan Malbut Open Womens cup was won by Emma Ringer and the
Vic Barrell Open Mens Handicap was won by Rohan Dennis.
The night also featured spectular scratch and point score events
which thrilled the large crowd.
